Result for the complaint to acting CJ Carpio and shortlist of CJ Nominees. TODAY.




TODAY, Inquirer reports that 
The Supreme Court will push through with its special en banc (full court)  to discuss the disbarment complaint against acting Chief Justice Antonio Carpio. Anti-crime crusader Lauro Vizconde who accused Carpio of allegedly using his influence to secure appointments to essential government posts.

The deliberation and voting of the Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) for the shortlist of candidates will follow, to be submitted to President P-noy.


As of June 14, Inquirer.net reports JBC had received 11 nominations and applications for Chief Justice. Below is the list.

  2. Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza
  3. Bureau of Internal Revenue commissioner Kim Henares
  4. Women's rights advocate Atty. Katrina Legarda
  5. Retired Judge Manuel Siayngco Jr.
  6. Ateneo de Manila University law school dean Cesar Villanueva
  7. Inquirer columnist/former UP College of Law dean Raul Pangalangan
  8. Former Laguna Assistant Provincial Prosecutor Marianito Sasondoncillo
  9. Atty. Nepomuceno Aparis
  10. Atty. Rafael Morales, managing partner of the Sycip, Salazar, Hernandez & Gatmaitan law firm
  11. Jocelyn Esquivel, who claimed to be a nurse, submitted an application
